The Wild Flowers

Its spring time in Texas, the trees are getting their leaves back, the little flower bud of the Blue Bonnet are appearing on the field and little daisies are already blooming in the grass around our hanger. The weather is sunny but cool, its a pleasant day in short.

If I ask you to name 5 flowers, it'll be easy to say Rose, Lily, Orchid, Sunflower and Daisy. Now name me 5 flowers that grow in the wild? Stuck... That is normal for we are used to florist shop which are mostly 'Valentine' flowers. Most don't even bother to learn about wild flowers at all. Flowers from the florist shop wither after sometime and never to recover again...its like a beauty lost forever.

The wildflowers (and trees) bloom in Spring, turn yellow in Summer, falls in Fall (Autumn) and disappear in Winter ("botak" for trees). And at the first sign of oppurtunity from the warmth of the sun and norishment of the melted snow and rain in late winter, Wild Flowers bloom again in Spring. Unlike your regular flowers or plants that need protection outside Spring season, Wild flowers are all by themselves out there, taking whatever the nature and sometime human intervention throws at them. They are tough plants for they can survive many cycles of season change.

Like Wild Flowers and Florist shop flowers, there are people who always have the good things in life and never experience challenge, set backs, took risk or lost like plants that got so use to the tender hands of the gardener who watered and care for it everyday. In a 180 degree change, when they lost that support, these people are no longer shield from tough times in life and break down.

There are also people who been through the good times and the bad times, success and failure, winning and losing the game and all this in many many cycles like a wild flower through the 4 seasons. These people are harden veteran of life and almost nothing could bring them down from the goal of survival or achievement.

A silver spoon in the mouth might be a good thing in life but the earlier one stop depending on it, the better life he/she will get in the future. So step out of that comfort zone before you are force out of it unwillingly.... Be a Wild Flower, not a shop Rose thats only vivid for a moment.
