Freaking Winds at the NDP parade preview.

As some of you might know, I am part of the Air Force supporting c.u.m marching contingent for this year NDP Parade. Have been burning numerous weekends to put up a good show for all of you fellow citizen of Singapore. All the rehearsal so far and also the NE show (for the primary 5 kids to watch) went through with nothing exciting happening to us untill today..... our Air Force contingent was almost wiped out by a freak wind that blow across the Singapore river.

Now, who ever say Singapore River was a sheltered water way, well protected from storm and strong wind should really reconsider after todays incident. Before the NDP preview starts, we were all station at the following location-- (RED STAR)



Now, with all the land masses surrounding the body of water, a strong wind is not really possible. We were all the usual good soldier, sitting down eating the usual Mass produced and mass sponsored Pizza Hut lunch that all good soldier always eat during the pass few years NDP parades when the first warning came.... the sky become dark. The sea water starts to rock the boats quite violently in a distance. Here comes a small gust of wind that never stops it momentum. Soon our Pizza is been peppered with natural favouring (sand) and than a few leaves from the tree added the final touch to our lunch before the wind starts to rock our shelter which was those Pasar Malam type.

The wind become really FREAKING FAST!!! I mean, for a true blue Singaporean that never experience tornadoes or hurricane, I have never experience such strong winds in my 24 years time in Singapore. Our Air Force contingent was really caught off the guard, the entire "Pasar Malam" tent literally flew off from the ground and some Air force service man are still sitting there, under the open sky right now, still happily munching their meals and admiring nature destruction happening in front of their eyes. Probably we were all too shock to know what to do in such situation, our Singaporean mind are just not tune to react to such Natural disaster... it took a few moments before all the guys release what happen and move away from the scene of destruction. One champion actually did the most unforgiving thing for any SAF service man to do; He quickly took his bag, a bottle of NEWATER and his Pizza lunch but left his SAR21 rifle at the scene. "Better save his stomach than a lifeless, 2kg piece of metal." This time the FEAKING wind have become MORE FREAKING, a few trees were broke off at its trunk and a heavy stone chair literally topple under the force of the FREAKING wind. The Pasar Malam Shelter was not spared the extra punishment, the metal scaffold broke off and landed on the ground where we use to sitting and enjoying lunch.

It came so fast and its gone as fast too. The Aftermath-

1)Our Pasar Malam shelter was all blown away and we were all laughing for don't know what reasons. Maybe too happy that we are still alive or maybe just very excited to see all this destruction happening LIVE.

2)One of our guys, the Champion, SAR21 rifle magazine was damage when one of the metal scaffold from the "Pasar Malam" shelter landed on it. The spring from the magazine literally flew out. The rifle was luckily still in good condition. I think ST Kinectic should really reconsider the design of the rifle magazine.

3) Only 2 casualties. He hurt his hand when the Pasar Malam shelter flew off initially. The other guy is from the Police contingent, got hit hard on the head.

This incident was the most exciting stuff prior to the NDP Parade Preview, its just a waste that we were not able to bring cameras for the NDP Preview due to last minute security reasons. In any case, we are still still alive and I hope all of you will show your support for us by tuning in to NDP Parade 2005 LIVE telecast on the 9th of August..... "For the Red Lion paratrooper who injured himself" , "For the Airforce and Police contigent who survived the FREAKING storm".

A very popular japanese detective anime TV serial that use to be telecast on channel 8 donkey years ago. However, TCS stop its telecast half way through the 148 episode kept the audience (especially my sis) in suspense till now.

Durai? NKF? More than you see....

Consider this,

1)With the large amount of money been transacted within NKF without transparency and the 2) astronomical annual income of T.T Durai who was suppose to run a charity organization but instead BIG money and fly 1st class, don't you all think its weird, strange or even a mystery that all along this two things have been happening without been checked?

I kid you not man. The government is able to expose China Aviation Oil's CEO for his misadventure in oil derivatives and able to bring Catholic Priest Joseph Kang to justice for his swindling of the church fund but why are the government not able (or maybe willing) to investigate on NKF in the beginning? Especially when public funds is at stake?

There is more than meet the eye than just T.T Durai, NKF and SPH. T.T Durai could just have been a puppet... and "someone" is the puppet master. Such large amount of money been raise every year by the NKF charity show, "someone" would have want a piece of that pie...

Anyway, I never donated a cent to NKF....so I will stop whining like those people who whine through the NKF hotline to get their donation money back! WTF? I though its suppose to be a donation right? Since donate already, and its from the heart, now this buggers want to take it back? Ah...yes, I almost forgot...most who call are just trying their lucky to win a FIAT STILLO MICHEAL SCHUMACHER edition car.

You see, NKF charity show have really degenerated into a lucky draw show. I will prefer the way Ren Ci Charity Show was run....no prize and of course no FIAT STILLO MICHEAL SCHUMACHER edition car.....just a genuie plead to raise fund for charity.

Dear CAF (Chief Of Air Force) MG LIM KC,

I am part of the Air Force marching contigent for NDP 2005 and have been burning numerous saturday to be DRILLED TO PERFECTION. I am very proud to be arrowed for this once a year event celebrating our Nation Independence although I was most unwilling in the beginning because I have to spend an entire Saturday morning to afternoon dedicated to the event. However, my base RSM have assured me that we will all feel very proud when we march at the Padang on the 9th of August. RSM say the feeling on the actual day is like having an Orgasm....

However, sir, it have never failed me to realise how damn "Buay Song" I am with the Rehearsal organizing committee! I have been to Nee Soon camp for don't know how many bloody saturday when we were told to get there early and ending up having to wait and wait and wait. Whats the bloody point of telling us to reach Paya Lebar Air Base at 10.30am to have a god damn early lunch, draw our SAR21 drill rifle at 11.00, take a private bus to Nee Soon camp and end up having to sit till our butt grow pimple before the actual parade rehearsal starts at 1.30 ~ 2pm? Everyone reach there at 12.30 leh...... so "Efficient". Rush to wait and wait to rush attitude again?

Sir, actually can make the timing "zun zun" so that the moment we reach Nee Soon camp, we can immediately get DRILLED after 5min of rest. SAF must be a Efficient fighting force mah, simple thing like the timing should get it correct what? Otherwise we sit there lobo 1 hr not only waste our bloody weekend time but also tax payer money leh! I love to be DRILLED but I hate to wait man!

Than hor, sir I want to highlight this very very big issue that is affecting the morale of the Air Force supporting contigent. We use to have comfortable private bus to fetch us from Paya Lebar Air Base to Nee Soon camp and vice versa. I remember on one of the rehearsal the Parade commander say that Singapore economy this year "Eat Grass" and NDP will have to cut budget but quality will be still there, I thought this is not my problem. Bloody Hell, the next few parade rehearsal we end up having old SBS bus picking us up! Sir, you never take public transport before (and never will) you never know how inadequte is the leg space on SBS Bus is. Our knees are literally pressing on the back of the seat in front of us, not to mention the SAR21 rifle taking away some of the leg space too. I think only Frodo or Yoda will find the seat comfortable. Man.... this not only affect morale but also affect out knee cap leh. Sir, I know you seldom or maybe have never been DRILLED in life but you must know our knee cap very precious one leh! Wait cannot march how? Somemore normal days still have to do Aircraft work leh. I think SAF should give the private bus company a chance lah.... nowadays government almost monopolise the transport market till private bus company "Pai Tan Jia", we should just give private bus a go. Win win situation mah, help them earn money and boost the economy and also help to boost our morale!

Lastly ah Sir, I want to complain one last thing. After going through 2-3 round of parade rehearsal at Nee Soon camp, its time to go home. Ka ni na, we all very good soldier....report for parade sharply but when its time to go home keep on dragging and dragging....the bus keep on coming late...sometime have to wait Bloody 2 hrs long! Where got such thing one SIR? Its like lending money right? I lend you money, you return me promptly than next time I will be willing to lend you again mah..... Don't keep us back too late next time ok?

Thank you sir for reading my letter. Hope you don't feel offended by the way I write cause I only diploma engineering and only a 2nd Sar-Germ. If I knew earlier on huh, I would have study very very very hard, go university, get an SAF scholarship and end up working with you up there with gold bar, gold crab and gold star. Maybe can even be Chief of Air force leh...mai xiao xiao hor.... ha ha. All the best to your work

Best Pizza in town

Just chance upon the best pizza in town! Really and truly the best pizza i ever eaten in Singapore. It beats Pizza Hut to pulps and make Canadian Pizza extinct in my food list. It call the NewYork Pizza and its conviniently located between Macdonald and the dessert store at my neighbourhood (Kathib). Price wise is pretty reasonable, S$2.90~S$3.90 for a larger than palm size pizza. Thin bread layer and lots of ingredients on the pizza itself. Somemore got nice packaging leh.... Just click on the image below...


Although the smallest sized pizza you can purchase is the one shown above, the basic right angle triangle single pax size at between S$2.90~S$3.90 depending on the flavours (many to choose from), its however big enough for two person. TRY IT!!! You won't regret....

Good crabs bad crabs and chili crabs

There are always good crabs and bad crabs in the SAF, so far I have seen mostly good crabs in my 3 years life in RSAF....there is however one very Lao Yah crab I seriously got piss off with. If given the chance, I will cook him in hot chili all for losing a document that I send to him to get his precious signiture. Damn screw up, two piece of paper also can lost on the desk. At less he should call me when he run out of toilet paper while watching pornography in his office! Sadly, sometimes I feel RSAF is still a "TALK SOLIDER ON TOP OF PAPER" organization.... Alot of paper work beside aircraft work.

I submitted the document 3 weeks ago and have never fail to approach his secretary every two days to ask "Have S4 sign the document?" And here are all the respone I have from his poor secretary who have to endure my countless visit not because I want to and not because she was "Chio"....just because I was suddenly shove with this duty from my Encik... "NAH! Take go S4 sign! Quick sign all else audit come we jialat".

Now here is the few respone I have from Miss Secretary (M.S) everytime I visit.

1st day
Me: Have the S4 sign my document?
M.S: Er...nope, you have to come back tomorrow.

2nd day
Me: Have the S4 sign my document?
M.S: His on leave and will be back Tomorrow.

6th Day (give a bit of allowance)
Me: (Same old question)
M.S: Hmm, let me check...not yet.
Me: Its urgent document, when will it be sign?
M.S: This afternoon, I am sure. Will get him to sign

10th Day (I am very very generous now...)
Me: I am here to collect the document.
M.S: I am sorry, S4 go play golf today and its not sign yet.
Me: Oh, can I have it sign by tommorrow?
M.S: Ok.
Me: Whisper (Nah Beh......!)

Now this goes on and on and on and my Encik keep on pestering me for the document and I have to keep on explaining to him how incompetant the S4 is with handling a pen. Finally,

24th Day (After many many days of visit, more than my whole life visit to clinic)
Me: Is the document sign? If not pass it back to me please.
M.S: Its not sign, let me check with the S4 if he is holding it right now
(5 mins later)
M.S: Oh, S4 did not recieve the document at all? When did you pass it to him?
Me: I pass it to you few weeks ago and you told me you will get S4 to sign dear!?
M.S: Cannot be lah. I did not recieve any document from you.
Me: WHAT??? Crap.....

I walk out of the door and felt so cheated...cheated by a crab and his mistress. Luckily my Encik was pretty understanding and prepare a fresh new document and went to S4 personally to get it sign. 10 mins later...it was done. I was like "What the hell?" I think my Encik "Trapped Crab" helps afterall...
