Now gentlemen, I am going to share with you a secret to perform well at any job you undertake. If we replace each letter from A to Z with a number, depending on a certain trait displayed during work, we all can find out how well this traits will help you perform well at your work. In any job, we need leaders and thus leadership. Been a leader will bring out the best in other and project yourself well in front of the boss,

Prove that there is always a need for leader but a good leader is not everything yet.

Arm with the right skill for the right job will get your work done in a short time. Your boss will be impress with your speed and accuracy at work.

Ahhh... you can be very good at creating spreadsheet but you can also be an MC King, a rumor monger or you are just too arrogant about your capabilites. Boss like you but your peers will not like you and thats not healthy.

Knowledge is Power. Knowing more than your counterparts earn you respect and land you on all the major project which is a sure hitting way to get the next pay raise and promotion.

Knowledge is power....really but you still need that 4% of "get your hands dirty work" and 1% creativity.

Can creative people excel at their work just for been plain creative and really good with coming out with lots of new ideas?

Either your ideas is realise or it just become a castle in the air. 17% to put it into action.

How about a 10k job to sweep all the HDB void deck in you neighbourhood? Thats a lot of Money?

Money is a sure motivator to work well and better but will you even have the life energy and time to enjoy the 10K after cleaning the entire yishun housing estate (if...you ever complete cleaning it). 3/4 time working for the money.


Without a good skill to start with and a no brainer in the creative department. Without much passion and lack of knowledge. Worst of all....a low bangla salary. How can you excel in work at all? Maybe you just have to change your attitude towards it.

Wrongly accuse just to save face!

Sometime I feel ashame to be a chinese and hope I am an Ang Mo or whatever. Chinese people really like to backstab each other, gossip and always want "Face".

My mum have been a really hardworking, cheerful and very friendly worker at a local pork stall in my neighbourhood. I must say she have really good "ren yuen" (very socialable) since everyone in the market enjoy chatting with her. Working at a pork stall means waking up at 4am everyday except monday which is an off day. 10 straight hours of dedicated work with a menacing cleaver on hand but always a smile on the face when serving customer. No sick leave taken, working till the whine hours and almost 24hours prior to chinese new year eve....she couldn't be able to bear the stress, I think but she really enjoy and is totally dedicated to her work. Everyday I see her coming home with a smile but physically drain. I urge her not to work since I am able to support her with my job now but she insist on working to pass the time. Miserable pay, in my opinion, of S$950 every month without annual leave.

The pork stall is just one branch out of many around singapore own and solely run by a family. The boss name is Leong. Leong's wife and sister sometime came over to help mum at the stall but they are NO GOOD PEOPLE. Such a wonderful business earning money but one of them still occasionally STEAL from the cashier box. My mum saw it with her own eyes but dare not report to the boss cause, you know, it might cause a big hoo haa in Leong's family. One fine day, one of Leong's sister came down to the stall to grab some free meat, my mum was professional and told her that she cannot just take so many meat away cause there is business to be done. Guess the sis was pretty piss off. Within the next few days, she went to tell the whole of Leong's family that money have been missing from the cashier box at the stall mum is working at. She was trying to get even with my mum. What the hell..... Leong came down to the stall and question my mum. He seems to be a good boss, listening to mum telling him about the "Free Meat" incident and who really is the one stealing from the cashier box. Mum have to expose the culprit now or else her job and reputation will be a stake. Boss assured mum he will get to the bottom of this and will not make mum a scape goat. How convinient....

Yesterday, after my mum came back from work, she recieve a call from Leong telling her not to come to work the next day. In short she was FIRED. My mum ask Leong "WHY!?" Leong only replied "You know what you did yourself, no need to ask why". There you go, the whole sky just crash onto mum. It seems that Leong's sister, wife, son, daughter etc have great influence power on him... eventually making him believe that it was my mum and not their own family member doing the misdeed. OF COURSE!!!! CHINESE LIKE TO SAVE FACE. Its easier to point the fingers at an outsider rather than accusing your own brother or sister of crime. WHERE IS THE JUSTICE here?

Leong, please don't call yourself a boss you fuck, asshole, jerk, son of the bitch! Your unprofessional decision making and accusation have make a dedicated worker depress! You can't even protect your own employee let alone run the business any better in the future! I believe, Leong, have no balls at all because he is scare....scare that by exposing his own family member....he will loss the family support and eventually the business. Carry on pointing fingers at other for stealing the pie on the table when its a bitch in you family who is the greedy beast.
