Drink water on an empty stomach

Extracted from Rissa Agawa blog...

It is popular in Japan today to drink water immediately after waking up every morning. Furthermore, scientific tests have proven its value. We publish below a description of use of water for our readers. For old and serious diseases as well as modern illnesses the water treatment had been found successful by a Japanese medical society as a 100% cure for the following diseases:

Headache, body ache, heart system, arthritis, fast heart beat, epilepsy, excess fatness, bronchitis asthma, TB, meningitis, kidney and urine diseases, vomiting, gastritis, diarrhea, piles, diabetes, constipation, all eye diseases, womb, cancer and menstrual disorders, ear, nose and throat diseases.

METHOD OF TREATMENT

1. As you wake up in the morning before brushing teeth, drink 4 x 160ml glasses of water ....Interesting

2. Brush and clean the mouth but do not eat or drink anything for 45 minutes

3. After 45 minutes you may eat and drink as normal.

4. After 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch and dinner do not eat or drink anything for hours

5. Those that are old or sick and are unable to drink 4 glasses of water at the beginning may commence by taking little water and gradually increase it to 4 glasses per day.

6. The above method of treatment will cure diseases of the sick and others can enjoy a healthy life.

The following list gives the number of days of treatment required to control/reduce main diseases:

1. High Blood Pressure - 30 days

2. Gastric - 10 days

3. Diabetes - 30 days

4. Constipation - 10 days

5. Cancer - 180 days

6. TB - 90 days

7. Arthritis patients should follow the above treatment only for 3 days in the 1st week, and from 2nd week onwards - daily.

This treatment method has no side effects, however at the commencement of treatment you may have to urinate a few times.

It is better if we continue this and make this procedure as a routine
work in our life.

Drink Water and Stay healthy and Active.

This makes sense. The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their
meals...Not cold water. Maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit
while eating!!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain...

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you.

It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion.

Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks: Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting.

Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.

You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack.

Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.

60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up.

Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know the better chance we could survive...

A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this mail sends it to everyone they know, you can be sure that we will save at least one life.

Petition against high bus fare for Poly students

My view on the Facebook Petition,

"As a Polytechnic Student graduating from TP in 2003, I can empathize with the current plead of our Singapore Poly students. I strongly suggest the government to extend the transport privilege of JC students to the local Singaporean students who are fresh graduates from Secondary School 'O' Levels. This will be a fair decision to make for the PTA (Public Transport Association). A system must be design to ensure Poly students do not face a disadvantage in their pockets compare to JC.

As for the working adults and foreign students studying in Polytechnics, my opinion is that it will be a difficult decision for the PTA to grant such transportation privileges. First, working adults as a salaried man/women do have the financial mean to meet their transportation needs. Second, for the foreign student, unless there is foreign student in JC having the same transportation privileges otherwise it will not be easy for the PTA to grant such privileges too.

I support this online petition in any case :)"

I still love Guitar Hero.

Last Saturday I was at Suntec City to catch the Asia Anime Festival 2008. Along the way to the exhibition hall came across the Guitar Hero IV: World Tour. Decided to try my hands on it and also secretly wanna impress the crowd that gather there with my sub-par but acceptable "Hard Level" skills. Guitar Hero IV: World Tour is totally different from the previous series, I would say its more like a clone of ROCK BAND duplicated on the Guitar Hero franchise; got 2 guitar, 1 drum and a Mic to sing into. Pretty impressive game provided you got a game party at home else I would still stick to the previous 3 guitar hero for solo performance. Did not hang around the Guitar Hero IV game booth for long. Although the staff manning the booth are impressed, I must admit I am already rusting in skills and there are many really good Guitar Hero gamers out there who still passionately play the game everyday.

Came back home from work today. "Late Night, Come Home, Work Sux, I know - All The Small Thing- Blink 182". No one is around the house so I took my dusty Guitar (5 button one) and played a few of my favorite Guitar Hero tunes form Guitar Hero 1, 2 and 3 (yup, I got all of them). Surprise that its still working after 6 months in the storage. One thing I gain from playing this game is my left hand's fingers actually became more flexible! Not to mention I finally found good use for the ring finger other than for marriage and the pinky other than for picking the nose and middle finger other than for swearing. Yes...if you wanna play HARD and EXPERT level, use of the pinky finger will be very very beneficial.

Really really rusty liao....I can't even beat my own records back than!!! The best I could was getting my name on the 5th place for most of the song. Although I had fun and got de-stressed through those 70s and 80s rock music (ironically), I felt a bit sian my skill had degenerated into the present state. Those record breaking results are all achieve during my stay in US, where I stay alone with my house mate Ricky, I can have the whole living room to myself and I can play Guitar Hero everyday when I come back from work. The house is always cool during summer and pretty comfy during winter, conducive to play whole year round. I played so much that sometime after a lengthy game session, I got a temporary visual distortion due to prolong visual fixation of 5 scrolling columns on the screen. Was pretty good back than I must say. No problem with my house mate and no neighbor call the cops for the loud music.

Back in Singapore. I stop playing at home until today. Weather is always warm and humid, not too nice to play video game. Turning on the air-con is gonna burn my civil servant paid pocket. I have parents and sis in the house most of the time and the rock music will just disturb their peace. Than there are the neighbors I got to be considerate about. No wonder my skill become rusty now. Today I discover I still love the game and I wish that one day I will have a dedicated entertainment room that I can come home to everyday to de-stress rather than just a bedroom and PC to blog about this.

I still love Guitar Hero and its one of the few games that got me interested in 70s and 80s rock music from the like of KISS, Nirvana, Gun & Roses, Megadeth, Cheap Trick, Black Sabbath. SUPER ROBOT WAR series got me hooked on Japanese robot Anime like Neon Genesis Evangelion, Patlabor, Macross and all the Gundam Series up till Gundam Wing.

Here today, I like to share some of my favorite songs from the Guitar Hero series...

First up is Sweet Child Of Mine - Gun & Roses. Took me a painstaking 1 month to play the song in HARD mode. Still learning those fast note in the middle of the track though. My favorite track in Guitar Hero 2.

Next up is STRUTTER-KISS. This is a very easy song to play even in the HARD mode. I got a 5 star rating and minimum 4 star on HARD mode. Really easy. One of those song to boost your morale after a few failed HARD level songs.

Than its War Pig from Black Sabbath. A song that reflect about politician and war. Very very strong meaning in the lyrics. War are fought at the expense of common folks. This is not an original MTV though but it get the meaning across.

Killer Queen - Queens. Quirky song from the British group Queen. Always very impress with Freddie Mercury voice that no one had ever emulate thus far. This song was feature in Guitar Hero 1. Not exactly rock, not exactly pop...

A heavy metal song about Aliens and Roswell. Hangar 18 by Megadeth. I'm still learning to survive in hard mode. This is a really really nice song to play in Guitar Hero. Very fast notes and very tired fingers. The MTV got a nice storyline to it.

And finally. Heart Shaped Box - Nirvana. Easy song to master in HARD mode as long as you learn to use the pinky finger. Really like the monotonous style of guitar riff the song got that break into a high intensity jamming at the chorus.

The right fact...

From Elvin Wu PC, father of 2 kids. From the mouth of a parent who is responsible for the well being of his children,

"When exercising, your immune system weakened. Virus would have higher chance of launching counter attack.
A more effective way of increasing body temperature is to eat porridge. Whenever I feel virus, I would eat a bowl of porridge."

Thanks for straightening out the facts. I actually do feel slightly worst at work today...most likely due to the run. Next time I'll go for hot food. Tom Yam soup??? I heard it work wonder for flu.

Back to work wednesday

Work work work.... (Peons) Hai-ho Hai-ho and off to work I go....(7 Dwarfs) Gi ve me a job... (Peasants). Still feeling a bit lethargic from the medication though but officially have to go back to work today. 30 days of medical leave a year cannot suka suka consume finish else will look very bad on the record (unless it was some kind of major illness!!! Touch wood...).

One thing about flu medication is it either make you drowsy or make you semi-deaf. I am suffering the latter. Seems like the medication is blocking 50% of my audible senses. Well, gonna take it easy today at work man. Marathon coming in less than 3 weeks time and I better be in tip top condition.

Went running this morning to purge those virus from my body. As learn online, Virus can't survive with high body temperature thats why when you got the flu virus, you will have a mild fever too...its the body natural way of fighting the virus beside the use of pathogens (white blood cells). So nothing to be alarm with the rise in body temperature unless it hit close to 39. Running raise the body temperature but since last evening medication is still taking its effect, I was hardly able to run far at all without mentally stopping myself to a stroll to avoid any complication.

Down for 2 days. The good pilot and the car washer.

Overheard through the intercom channels on one of those days I have to be involve in some test flight...

Pilot A: Lets do the controls checks before start up.
Pilot B (Junior): Ok, proceeding.
Pilot A: Just don't push it too fast, we don't want to stress the PTU.
Pilot B (Junior): Yes Sir.

A simple sentence with lots of meaning in it. Absolute respect for Pilot A for his teachings to Pilot B. This is one hell of a maintenance friendly pilot who knew not to push a machine too hard and leave it wet later on. And further to that, my 2 weeks experience with Pilot A reveal that , his concern for not only the Operational flying but also the Maintenance effort of the man on the ground. "Thumbs Up" (People in my business will know who I am referring to).

1 whole week of stress, Two late nights on Friday and Saturday put me down with flu on Sunday evening. I was down and temporary out of work yesterday and same goes for today. Paying S$36 to the medication and consultation for Flu and Fungus (yes, I got a skin fungus near my nose) also gave me an opportunity to rest for 2 days. Apparently, I was slightly lost yesterday not going to work, its like my mind and body was not occupied by activity and in short it was totally boring. End up reading up on Aircraft Power plants maintenance, chatting up with a girl over MSN and playing Castlevania: Order Of Eccelsia on my Nintendo DS Lite.

Given a choice, I would head back to work though for not that my life is now centered to work but there is some shit load of backlog and back end logistic stuff to clear as well. What the hell... 公是做不完的,钱是赚不完的,人是会死的 (Work Never End, Earning Money Never End, Life is short though) , nothing to feel guilty about taking MC and resting for 2 days for a better tomorrow.

Oh... I like to take this free time on MC I had to show appreciation to my dad who held aesthetic cleanliness to the highest standard, for our family vehicle that is :). Little did I realize that every time I (or my sis) drove to work or dating in a sparkling clean car was actually the effort of my dad daily maintenance and cleaning. If it was up to me, I would probably clean it once a week only and at a paid car wash instead (I admit my laziness). Nothing beats the personal cleaning touch of his. THANKS! I think its time to buy a portable washer so he don't have to carry water down all the time.

A man in his 50s loitering around me and my sis car in the carpark...

Turn out to be dad in his morning routine...washing car. Just look at his face, the concentration and absolute emotion while getting the grime out of the rim.

Smile for the camera dad!

A set of Nintendo Super Mario.

Thanks Kae for this wonderful set of Nintendo Super Mario's Power Up and Power Down key chain. It must had took tremendous effort, luck and lunch time sacrifice to get this complete set from the "Turn Turn" machine . Hmm... I wonder what surprise is in the "Question Mark" cube...

Ladies and Gentlemen...presenting....(Drum roll)...

The Nintendo Power Up/Power Down gang! From left: Blooper, Question Cube, Shy Guy, Red Mushroom, Bullet Bill and Green Mushroom.

And now we have Red and Green Mushroom to give us the quote of the week...

"
In life we need a Red Mushroom to be larger than life. Sometimes we need a Green Mushroom to get a second chance in life."

They are now hanging in my car... something to keep me awake in the morning traffic jam.

The Thousand Hand Guan Yin

Excuse me? I only have 2 hands and I'm not 千手观音...

Sigh. Next time I will not dare park in the Officer parking lot like I did today. Turn out having the "run the whole show" today. Pretty tired. Need more experience guys around to help out. Still got to thank whatever and whoever around today who assisted with the other little little matters of the day which could easily pile up and overwhelm Riccardo.

One day to go before the weekend. I just have to survive through Friday and be save by reinforcement of Monday. I wonder how people in the Empire will survive 10 years down the road with our shrinking population. Something got to be done....

Very sad today. "Dirty Laundry" are point out by people outside the "House". Very disappointed with quality of work. Very guilty for the poor leadership in the morning. Riccardo think he could have done a better job. Must remember....black on white is always right!!!

I am eagerly searching a guide book on how to be a Magician...

Why are town council using our money to invest???

Just paid a two month Town Council service and conservancy charge of S$123 only to learn that they had use our money to invest in Financial product...failed financial product. Since when were we, residents of HDB flats and Singapore pay the monthly charges just to allow the money to end up as surplus investments? This money are suppose to be use for maintenance of our housing estates, pay the cleaners, build sheltered walkway, paint the void deck pillars, wash our common corridor, fix the lift, pay the civil servants working under town council....this are money paid with our hard earn cash for maintenance of our housing estates!!! Since when did "they" put in black and white that this money will be so call diversify and use for investment. Lame excuses like to combat inflation and to make the money work harder. Very lame...

In the first place, as a public fund...this money should be spend for public service. If there is surplus, isn't it right to rebate to the common people? I think the Town Council ought to explain what they are doing with the people's money. Some poor folks had to folk out the SC&C charges every month which could easily buy them a week of meal to only realize that the absences of any check and balance in the system result in poor management of public money.

It seems they are starting to operate more like a investment bank than a Estate Management company. Very very disappointed that the money I paid, that the money everyone in my neighborhood pool in are so mismanaged.

In fact for not openly apologizing only expose them to further criticism. Let see how many people will go Hong Lim Speaker Corner to protest... Its easier to protest against the bank with the MAS giving covering fire but protesting against Town Council? Who is going to cover the protesters? Another "Tan Kin Lian" style leadership? Wait for the "Red Car" to come...

The Sun Rays on the car

Unless you are staying in a late 90s HDB flat, chances are your vehicle will be be park in an open air car park. No one drive more than 2 hours a day and so for most the day, the car will be bathing in the everlasting summer sun of Singapore. The summer of Dallas is even worst! Without the use of proper sun shade and reflector, you will be in for a scorching surprise when you lay your hands on those steering wheel.

Since car will be expose to the sun shine most of the time, be it driving, stopping at traffic light and in the parking lot, most driver will install solar film to reduce the amount of UV entering the vehicle, reducing the interior temperature and also give the air conditioning system a break. I don't know about the correlation of fuel consumption and temperature of the day but its common for driver to blast the air condition to the max to cool down the vehicle, ensuring a comfortable ride. I vividly remember my dad doing so all the time when we got into his old Honda Civic. Nowadays people put Sun shade in front, at the side and some time at the back...wrapping up the whole car as though some Monkey show is happening inside.

That limitless amount of sun energy in light and heat. Why not use our car as a solar energy harvester? Since it gonna be in the sun the whole day, might as well make the car go greener by installing solar panel on the roof or maybe just the dashboard to harvest the sun energy on the go (or when parking).

SOLAR PANEL ON TOP OF TOYOTA PRIUS

Toyota seems to had come up with the concept of a Solar Roof to power the Hybrid. Still a concept car thought but this could clearly be the future of green energy on the road. Maybe for a starter, we should explore installing Solar Panel on the dashboard, an area that is receiving alot of sun ray and thus an area prone to heat induced crack as evident in my former Mitsubishi Eclipse that comes with plastic dashboard. Those power harnessed could easily be use to charge your mobile phone, Sony PSP, Nintendo DS Lite, IPOD, may the car battery, provide power to the dome light, PDA or maybe charge a small laptop. Imagine the among of money save in long run especially in times of the high oil price that are fueling higher home electricity bill?

For the less, put some Solar Toys on the dashboard to take the stresses of the day away.

A short visit to Marina Barrage

A short visit to Marina Barrage on the 16th November 2008. I am truly impressed by the engineering feat Singapore had pull off in design and constructing this Dam or barrage or flood gate or whatever they call it. Not only does it function as a water catchment and flood control facility for our little island of Singapore, it is also a really peaceful, relaxing and cooling sea breeze place to spend the weekend at. A well constructed facility that not only function but also an added asthetic feature to our country landscape. This is one of the place you got to visit if you ever come my country. The open green space at the top of the huge spiral walkway serve as a recreation ground and a picnic ground while catching the view of Singapore city landscape both day and night. I hope the Integrated Resort that slated to complete in year 2009 add more beauty to our city landscape. This is just a short visit before dinner at Suntec City Mall. I will definately be back to take more picture but most of all to just sit down there and marvel at the acceleration of our city development.

Sis Birthday! She got 2 birthday cake!!!

16th of November, 4 days after me...Today is Sis birthday. Jessie invited us for a combine Birthday dinner at KHA Thai Restaurant located within Hort Park (The Gardening Hub) yesterday evening. Always wanted to try the food there and its kind of a wish come true for me. It was quite a fine dining experience and so was the fine dining bill paid in the end. Really got to thank Jessie for this very very generous birthday treat to both of us. Food was excellent and the the dark sauce duck with mint leaf dish is highly recommended if you ever patronize the restaurant. I would avoid the "Beef Cheek" though for it taste too fatty for my liking. The outdoor patio sitting by the shallow pool give the ideal atmosphere of alfresco dining while admiring the sunset across the Garden. However due to pending rain yesterday, we had to switch to in door dining.

Sis Rachel and Jessie

Its just me and the menu.

Just look at the price!!!

After dinner, we headed to a small little island less than a kilometer south of Singapore, accessible by foot or car through a little causeway...its the Marine At Keppel Bay! Went there for some champagne and birthday cake cutting session for Rachel. Really great place to chill out and I will be patronizing it again all thanks to the cool sea breeze, excellent staff and great view of the water, Yacht and the "Caribbean" houses. Makes me wonder if I could ever earn that kind of money to own the house and Yacht.

Awfully Chocolate Cake is Awfully good!

From left to right to center: Jessie, Rachel, Riccardo and the Chocolate Rum cake from Awfully Chocolate.

I took Chamomile tea before the Champagne and got light shortly. Chamomile makes one calm and sleepy, Champagne makes one wanna sleepy and gasy... the combination of both are pretty intoxicating. End up sleeping in the car all the way back home and headed straight for shower and bed once I got home. As expected, missed my Marathon training run this morning. Well, for the birthday celebration... missing one training day is nothing, can always make up for it during the weekdays.

Today we got another Birthday Cake cutting ceremony for my Sis...this time in the privacy of our apartment. Haha...pretty make up for the 2 years that I missed out while in US. So thats 2 birthday cake for Rachel in the year 2008.

Accuse without evidence, base on assumption

The flaw of a human mind that is use to selective mental conditioning. If a person is known to use company resources for personal motives in the past and now something in the company went missing, its easy to point the finger at that person regardless if he/she is really the culprit. If a person have a habit of speeding, an accident occur on the road, its easy to point the fault at his habitual speeding. If a worker take regular nap at work in the past, isn't it convenient to point the finger at him for not meeting the deadline of the job done today?

Every assumption is base on experience and memory of the past. What isolated cases that happen today and the conclusion and accusation drawn could than turn out to be a judgemental mistake. I learn today not to jump to conclusion base on the happening of the past and the words of another at the scene. I should have investigate base on the evidence, circumstances and fact of the present and draw a fair judgment on the person.

A banana is not always yellow, a cherry not always red and the sea is not always blue. Assumption is the mother of all mistakes.

27 years of existence - Happy Birthday to me

Home with a Birthday Cake just before Midnight.

Ok. I was searching through my blog and realize I blog about my birthday when I am just 25 years and 26 years old. The power of a search tool, little did I know I even blog about my own birthday! Anyway, the clock is 15 minute pass 12 mid-night on the 12th of November 2008. Going by the actual birth time on my birth certificate, I am still a few hours shy of 27 years old. Ahh.....it sure sound like the 26 years old me got just a few hours to live and is writing its final paragraph of Chapter 26 of life.

Looking back, its hard to remember what I achieve in my 27 years of existence. At less I can say I did not disappoint my parents; got a proper education, a decent paying job and decent character. I don't smoke at home ( I still have the habit of 2 stick a month), I am not alcoholic, I am not a chronic gambler and I don't take drugs.

In the past years I slowly see the flaws in me through the mirror. Its a sudden emergent of self conscience that never occur in the past. Sometime I think the few life crisis that happen along the way polish those mirror of life to make one see oneself better. I am grateful to those who are genuine with their critics of my action and behavior, they are the little mentor in life to straighten me in both work and life. Sometime it take someone else to make me realize whats wrong with me. However it sure take a great deal of wisdom to know what are the right teaching and what are not. Never change for the worst, isn't it?

I have to thank a few mentor of my life. There is my former secondary school teacher, a former work supervisor, a former boss, a close working friend, my Sis. Of course there are others who play a small but valuable role in my life development. Eventually, one should grow older with this accumulation of experiences and teachings. Nowadays I'm also turning to books as a guiding light of life. Although its been mostly self actualization books like 7 Habits of Effective People, The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari, Opening The Door Of Your Heart and Chasing Daylight. I have plans to read biography of famous people to draw inspiration and guidance for they had taken the effort to do their mentoring by writing so its up to the individual to take the effort of reading. It takes 2 hands to clap.

Been academically smart is a breeze but to learn how to work with people in life, thats very tough. Thats learning how to be interdependent not just sticking to been independent (which surely one can't survive for long).

Still a long way to go in this journey called life and I hope to be able to achieve one outrageous plan I always had in mind before this journey ends. To see that happen, I got to make some headway before 28. A Mission Statement and some good value to follow will be a nice start (sound so like my work organization yeah?). Ha ha ha I'm lost though...its the quarter life crisis and its a time when there is so many path to take and its so difficult to make the choice. At less right now I have committed to a higher education starting next year and got a crazy career plan in mind too.

Ahhh.... Yet again, I am too philosophical with my blog today. Something on a lighter note now. Got a Birthday gift from MK and Jie Jie today. Delivered to me by Ah Chan with his bloody finger hurt during work....

Something to wear for next year Halloween!!!

... and also numerous SMS well wishes from friends. Big thank you to all of you! No thanks to my work though for this is the third year I did not go on my Birthday off due to work circumstances one or another.

Thanks for early birthday celebration

Joreen, Cat, Joanne and Keriss...Thanks for been the first 4 lady to hold a birthday celebration dinner for me in the year 2008. Thought I only get to know you all for less than a year and contacts had been pretty rare this few months, I am deeply joyed to have the blessing and company from 4 of you today.

Especially love the "Jack" Nightmare Before Christmas car sunshade you all gave me. Really know my taste...hahaha. Thank you Keriss for organizing the dinner and giving us a nice Fear Factor performance when eating Escargot. Also thanks Cat for taking the effort to assemble this very interesting jig saw puzzle, characters from one of my favorite Anime.

1st African American President

History had been made, Barack Obama will be the United States first ever African American President. After many years of country ill management by the former President, the burden rest on the shoulder of President Obama to get this Country and also the world that follows straighten up and build up for a better future.

Maybe something this revolutionary can happen to a certain country that is solely run by a single, powerful ruling party for many years that had been justifying CEO level of salary instead of been civil servant serving the country's people needs? Getting more credible opposition into power is a good idea to strike a balance in decision making which otherwise right now is much of a monopoly and undeniably baseless policy that this collective single alignment brains are producing.

Think Engineering...a pump only produces useful pressure when there is opposition. Too much opposition is detrimental to the performance of a machine...too little result in low power output. The situation right now is almost no Opposition.

Patlabor Wallpaper

Just toying around with Photoshop...
