T T Durai meet the man in black

A clear cold christmas eve night, at a small cafe at the peak of Mount Faber, the area where couples like to go for hanky panky session turn out to be an ideal place for T.T Durai to drink in the public with a sense of privacy after all the months of NKF's media outburst.... Moments later, a black BMW with an unfamiliar license plate appeared. The high beam almost blinded Durai and bleach his black heart... Out came a Man in black (MIB)

MIB: Durai Durai... tsk tsk tsk

Durai: Sorry Master, I have failed you.

MIB: You have failed me for the last time. Everything was going so well, so very well but your lust for defamation suit have become you ultimate down fall. I was greatly relieved with the success of your previous two law suit against your fomer employees but you should have listen to me about Susan Long from SPH... You got pretty bloody carried away forgetting that some powerful forces is back SPH.

Durai: My lawyer was pretty confident than and I also want to defend the my rights regarding the gold tap. You see Master, it was actually gold plated not solid gold. It was really within my office maintenence budget. I have always been really careful regard our organization accounting

MIB: I always have great confidence in the accounting Durai thats why "they" have not press criminal charges against you! Its still have loop holes though but its a giant maze. Durai, still remember the time a ask you to be CEO of NKF and mention that we can do great things together? Since than our organization have grow so much, from 1 charity show a year to 2 and than to 3! We have all the gullible Singaporean calling in the 1900 hotline much to our pleasure and our partner tel-co company pleasure since they are earning 20cents admin fee per call! Our great supported from Mediacock have been very supportive all this years deploying their circus artiste in each fund raising program which was getting more and more exciting each year. In fact they were planning to do a Westin Stamford bungee jump for year 2006!!! NOW BECAUSE OF YOU! We all can suck thumb next year. Last time you are only 125cc when I could still guide you, than you become 400cc but still adviseable, after the previous lawsuit you upgraded to 1000cc, than you have gone out of control!!!

Durai: Those were the good days (he took a sip of ice-cream soda and a puff of TEXAS Light, nowadays he try his best not to smoke the expensive cuban cigar...must save for raining days.)

Durai: Master, I am beyond control sometime. Since you install me as the new CEO, there have been powerful forces and patrons eager to join or be related to NKF for a good cause. They are so powerful that I can't control everything that was going on. I feel so much like a puppet. As for Susan Long and SPH incident, I must defend that I was assured by a powerful force that they will make it into a Kangaroo court in our organization favour.

MIB: And? Susan Long and SPH also have powerful forces! You got betray Durai. Now all your ally have become your enemy! When some one mention about your peanut S$600,000 salary, that was the signal for all your ball-less Singaporean ally to switch side immediately. Told you long long time ago when you were still in University not to mess with the wrong person! See what happen to Chee Soon Juan when he did so in Uni? Durai, I have invested, groom and brought you over to the Dark side, you failed me miserably. We have the NKF funds, the NKF children fund and there was even plans to have NKF Lung funds, Eye funds, Limbs Funds, Testicle Funds, Animal funds, Retard funds..... we could have monopolise the entire Singapore Charity market! Oh, by 2009 we could have a NKF gambler addict funds!

Durai: Master! I am worried, what should I do now! The media outburst is getting worst each day! Bloody hell KPMG, last time always treat them kopi and always generous to them, always give us a clean accouting record. Now also switch side. They are so UN-ACCOUNTABLE!!! I was also really shock by whatever rubbish the newspaper are writing about me! Now I have become the bad guy, gullible Singaporean, who use to donate to NKF, are believing every single word the newspaper write! Whats next? They gonna say I always hire social escort? Sadly my good friend Mr Cao Qi Tai from taiwan also did not escape the bashing.... I don't know who the hell say he got alot of bonus everytime he host the NKF show, what I gave him was just an Ang Pow with just peanuts inside. Just peanuts...

MIB: Durai Durai, just sit tight there. It was a sort of blessing that they have not found anything to press criminal charges against you. We have throw a very big smoke bomb that they will find it impossible to get rid of. Don't worry, we all have learn from the ENRON incident on "HOW TO MAKE BLACK ACCOUNTING LOOK GOOD". This is not colombia or iraq, rest assured that as long as my police forces are around, no one will touch a single hair of yours. I don't want you to get in trouble Durai cause NKF is not only about you but also about the hundreds of our organization "agents" including your previous two mistress who will get implicated. You are the final defense and if it must turn out bad, I am sorry, I promise you many good years ahead once you are out of jail...

Durai: I have to make the sacrifice?

MIB: Yes. Just as you made the good sacrifice for the NKF's patients, you have to make the sacrifice for our agents for a good cause too. This are the people who still need to be on my side to get the show going on. Durai, you might be out of the show now but we do have a pension scheme for you. So don't worry, you done your best. Just keep up with your arrogant image, don't speak a word to the media and let this case drag on in the eyes of the general public. Let them savour the delicious dishes the media and newspaper dish out to them, let them complain like they always do, let the online forum flourish with words of anger and disappointment but WE will be back.... very soon, very very soon.

Durai: What about Gerard Ee? Our enemies have apparently position well in NKF now. We must get him out of there. He is a dangerous man. Our agents are in no safe land with him at the helm.

MIB: That is beyond your worries. I plan to keep him under fire at the moment... Take care, I will not see you soon....

The Man In Black left T.T Durai on his own, with his ice cream soda contemplating his next move. Yet again the high beam of the black BMW shone onto T.T Durai face as he bid a farewell. The once mighty Durai, helm of the NKF have now relegated to a sombre man with an uncertain future and a big fat bill to pay for the Bottle of Chivas and Rib Eye steak that the Man In Black "Ta Pao" in Durai's name.

Mean while, back in NKF CEO office, Gerard is having hell of a time...

No wonder, he cut all his hair in the recent newspaper article. Must be too much stress...

*** The above story are fictional in nature except for the part about Gerard Ee losing his hair and fighting a difficult battle. Damn it, retire already still have to handle all this shit. Give this man a break, give this man a kit kat...***

Factors in calculating motor insurance

This is a pretty short study conducted by me to find out if the current motor insurance quotation system is fair and square for us consumers. The studies is conducted on the NTUC online motor insurance quotation system and the objectives of this studies is to find out if the following condition have any effect on the premium of the motor insurance.

-Age of rider
-Pass date of license
-Registration date of vehicle

The first step is to get a "base" quotation base on genuie details for a third party only motorbike insurance. Here is the details, (My personnal particular are blank out for privacy purpose).

Hmm...third party insurance for my Honda Wave R was S$461 after a 10% complimentary discount from NTUC. Let say if I change the pass date of my riding license to indicated I am a experience rider with 5 years of good riding records, surely that will reduced the premium right?

Five years of experience under the belt prove to be worthless when it comes to insurance premium. So the variable applied to Pass date of driving license seems to have not much effect in the final premium. Very questionable. Now let say I am actually 30 years old, born in the year 1975 and no changes made to pass date of license.

So here is a very very stereotypical perspective motor insurance company have, the older you are the safer you are on the road and the lower your premium despite only having you license for less than 2 years. It is exactly as opposite perspective to life insurance where the premium increase with age. So far the conclusion we have here is the system don't recongnize your riding experience (5 years was not even considered) but more on your age. Can old man ride better than a young chap with 5 years experience? Finally we decided to play around with the registration date of the motorbike.

Hmm does that mean that an older bike which have went through years of wear and tear and engine that have went through much physical abuse is less of a hazard on road compare to a sparkling new bike with new breaks and new tires? Another big flaw in this quotation system.

I rest my case for you readers to add in your comments. I am sure with our collective comments, we can highlight the flaws in the premium quotation system of NTUC, AIG, AXA, MITSUI and any company selling motor bike insurance.
