Blood bond

I wonder if a parent and children blood bond could make one feel each other happiness and sorrow? Could a person feel a sense of familiarity or soul bonding when they meet someone who is his/her long lost brother/sister? Can a person feel the lost of the siblings or parent even when he is distance away? I wonder if there is some kind of spiritual energy connecting everyone together.
