Singapore Food: Hokkien Mee


This is a plate of Hokkien Mee. Hokkien = A Chinese dialect group originated from the province of Fujian, China. Mee= The Malay word for noodles. So Hokkien Mee is a dish commonly found in Singapore's hawker center, food courts and sometime even restaurants. Its a stir fried mixture of yellow noodles, white noodles, prawn, small pieces of pork, bean sprout and squid. Finally the dish is serve to customer with a single lime and sambal chilli for a final DIY flavoring. Typical cost of a single serving is from $2.50 to $3.50 after inflation.
