Snappy went for Adoption.

Today I decided to send Snappy, the other Sugar Glider I have to Petland for adoption. If sugar have not die, I will have kept both of them in my apartment. Just could not bear keeping Snappy alone in the cage and in my apartment and pretty apprehensive about buying another Sugar Glider... the traumatizing incident still linger at the back of my mine. Last night, I can sense his loneliness cause Snappy just keep confining in a small corner with his ears down, a sign of depression.

Brought Snappy to Petland Lewisville and duly pass it to one of the staff name Robbie. Robbie put Snappy into his new home together with several other gliders. Under my watchful eyes, I am relieved to find him "clicking" with the rest almost immediately.... no bloody territorial fight. Robbie is a Sugar Glider pet owner himself thus I am relieved to have Snappy in his care.

A small little farewell and I headed to the "Half Price Book Store" next door. Spend almost an hour there and brought two books at very cheap cheap price. US$3.00 for Micheal Crichton's "Prey" and "The Everything GHOST BOOK" at US$4.60. Its cooling weather nowadays so its gonna be comfortable to sit at the balcony, reading some books instead staying in the confine of my bedroom, laptop and Internet.

After 2 days of MC, finally heading back to work tomorrow....

Sugar's Urn and her final resting place.

Recieved Sugar's Urn from SummerTree Pet Clinic today. Those ashes wet held in a palm size pine wood box which slightly resemble a chinese coffin...

Decided to place it on top of the TV set in the living room and not in my bed room so that all visitor to my home can pay respect to her spirit that might be still lingering within those ashes.

Two set of Japanese miniture sword is place at both sides of the wooden urn to offer protection. Hopefully this Feng Shui set up will bring luck and fortune and most importantly peace to me in life and at work.

Gloomy, wet and cold Labor Day.

Wait up late at 10.30am this morning and realise that for the first time for several weeks, it was raining heavily outdoor. The cold wind just came rushing in to my apartment the moment I open the sliding door and the balcony. Realise that I am more of a Spring and Summer boy and cold weather just does not suit me at all.

Instead of waking up feeling refresh, it turn out to be kind of a miserable gloomy mood for me. Worst still, I went back to my laptop after breakfast to watch Final Destination 4. All those death and gory scene aggravated the poor mood I have for the day. Seems like I won't be looking forward to Winter when everything will look dead around me. Summer is coming to an end soon, so much for all the heat that we all have been complaining for the past few months...come autumn, the leaves will start to fall and the temperature will be much more cooling but PLEASE DON'T RAIN!!!

Went out with the guys in the evening for Dinner at IHOP a.k.a International House Of Pancakes. This is probably one of the good, value for money (cheap lah) restaurant located all around the Dallas/Forth Worth metroplex. I reckon the serve the BEST Pancakes in the world and of course they got lots of Ala Carte items in the menu too.

Right now, I felt kind of sick. A slight fever and bit of a running nose. Probably due to the sudden turn of weather today. My body usually adapt to weather changes and also sudden work shift changes by falling sick first. Hope things turn out well tomorrow morning.

GOOD NIGHT!

A call from the Vet...

Recieved a voicemail from the Vet, Dr Marshall this morning. "Hi Tan, this is Dr Marshall here. I have very bad news for you. Sugar (my 1 week old pet name) passed away this morning and we are very very sorry about it. We can arrange for a the body to be taken back for your private burial or you can choose to let us help you with a Private cremation."."

Huh? Thats it? After all those effort and prayers and it concluded with Sugar passing. I tried fighting back my tears upon hearing the news but bits of it got squeeze out of my eyes due to over-pressure. Very sad that a life was lost, very frustrated that all that I have done could not bring her back to life and VERY VERY Angry of whoever the culprit it was which is still now a big mystery. Right in my mind, it was flashback and imagination...Flashback of the moment I pick her lifeless body out of the cage, the rescue effort in the bathroom, the distress call to Karen and the vet and the false relief I have when I left her with the vet. Imagination of Sugar's last moment in the hospitalization cage, giving up her life with that last breath...

This is heart breaking moments. Although I have not really bonded with the pet but a lost life sure sadden and demoralize me the whole day. Was suppose to go off from work early today to check on her progress but instead I came to the Pet Clinic to be console by the Staff and Dr Marshall. Unfortunately I was not able to take a last look at Sugar's body before it was send for cremation this weekend, a communication breakdown earlier on over the phone cause her to be send right out before I even reach the Vet clinic.

You know what? While on the way to the Vet Clinic earlier on, I was telling Kok Meng ,who is fetching me there, that I don't felt so down anymore...I just want to close Sugar's last chapter properly, get the job done, get the bill of US$283 settled. Yes, this unfortunate incident did not just hurt me mentally but burn a small hole in my pocket. All the diagnostic, oxygen, medication, hospitalization stay, waste disposal, cremation service, pine wood urn for Sugar's ashes is not cheap.

BUT!!!!

I DID MY BEST FOR SUGAR AND I HAVE NO REGRET

JUST

AN UNSOLVED MURDER CASE...

Snappy, the 8 months old boy is now staying all by himself. Will be heading to Petland to get him a company...

Serious Animal Abuse!!! Very very Angry now!

I don't believe how someone could actually put so much Chinese medicated oil into my Sugar Gliders cage while I was away from Guard Duty last night. When I reach home this morning, I was very very SHOCK to find one of my Sugar Glider lying there motionlessly with a strong stench of Chinese Medicated Oil coming from its bed in the cage. Quickly check on the other younger one and THANK GOD, he was fine but sure is a bit traumatise by the sight of the dead counterparts.

I took that poor creature out of the cage and true enough, its whole body is literally coated with medicated oil and surprisingly it is still breathing but very very weak breathing it was. Rush her to the washroom and bath her in warm running water hopefully to get rid of the smell that was overwhelming her sensitive nose. The next sign of life was a bit of a claw movement and nibbling of my fingers. One of her eyes was open but other was close, probably cause by the oil getting into that eye. It was a really sad sight to see her struggling in my hands, a small little life that could soon leave the face of the earth. Gave it a bit of massage on her head and body, hoping to get those blood circulation going while keeping the warm water flowing over her body.

A sign of life mean sign of hope. She momentarily lapse into unconscious and looking at her trying to pull herself forward on the piece of cloth I lay her on really bring out the desperation of living on and the fighting spirit...clinging to her life. I pray really hard to GOD that she will survive through this ordeal. Called Siew Siew to get some help but his Wife Karen pick up the phone instead. Through her, I got the number for the Vet and she was very kind of come over to my apartment to pick my and my sugar glider out to the pet clinic located near Galleria Shopping Center.

Right now, I am keeping my finger cross for her well being. I don't mind spending that extra money for that little life that was nearly taken away by some perverted, no balls son of the bitch who can't pick on people of his own size. There is no one else staying with me and it very very obvious who commited this crime. It really sadden me to realise how cruel some people can be. I feell really unsafe to stay in the same apartment with this guy and right now I am already considering either of us move out.

I did not offend anyone, I am a very considerate person Why would some one do this to me and my pet.

Dr Marshall from the pet clinic just called. My pet is now under oxygen, taken some activated carbon medication to cleanse her blood stream but still extremely weak right now.

"SOME ONE GONNA ANSWER FOR THIS!!!"

After much gentleman talk with my room mate and kok meng, I realise it could be the maintenence guy at my Apartment who came in and drug the Sugar Gliders..gonna complain...
