A Free Bird!!!

Finally I am out of the agony of going for one Court session to another. As officially on 25th August 2005, I am a free bird! Thanks to my lawyer, Mr K.S Loo, out of 3 criminal charges I am acquitted from 2 and only punish for 1 charge- "Failure to pay road tax". The fine was a mere S$800 which means I will get to keep my Job in the RSAF and not suffer a military discharge. A big relieve of pressure from my mind and also to my Officer In Charge who is trying very hard to ensure that I do not have too much work burden during this tough period and also to help me speak good words to the upper management. I am so glad that I can now fully commit to my job in RSAF without worries and able to let my passion of this job be fully develop. 5 court session, 4 months of mental stress and the hole in the pocket due to legal fees and the implication to my job....all this S*** is finally over.

As some of you might know, I trust my friend too much to get me into such trouble. I am really a victim of others mischief. Little do I realise that the arms of law strike the good people and the bad one. I have learnt to be more careful with people now no matter how close they are to me. Gonna use Wisdom instead of just compassion to due with people around me nowadays.

Its a long recovery phase for me now. To recover the financial damage I incurr, to convince my boss that he have not wasted his effort to retain me (must work harder lah!) and also start creating good track record for myself before the December "Air Maintenace Officer" interview.

I really like to thank all the friends who have given me so much mental support during this period and also my family members who were always right behind me. Also say a big thank you to Veronica, a girl I only knew for 2 weeks. Although she knew about the trouble I am in, she have never lost faith in my character even though we only met for such short period of time. Thanks to her prayers every night, her chicken soup on the day of court session and her encouragement.

Happy National Day

Now, Singapore is my country, love it and sometime dislike it. This is what I dislike about Singapore in my own opinion,

TOP TEN REASON WHY I MIGHT DISLIKE SINGAPORE

1)Car too expensive to own, COE,PARF,ERP,TP,IMPORT TEXT....etc

2)Government set very very strict rules hindering small business (mobile food van for example)

3) My RSM give me boliao duties like Hanger guard and BOS.

4)No strong opposition party in the parliment. I support PAP but at less give 30% of the seats to opposition so that unwelcome policy can be opposed instead of been implemented to make more suffer.

5)Rising and rising transport cost!!!

6)CPF. Yes, its a stupid and old outdated policy set it the pass and obsolete now. Felt more like a tax than saving plan. Good for buying flats only.

7)Kangaroo Court. I hope I don't suffer its wrath.

8) Our new prime minister. No offence please, but at less allow for voting. I can't see any proven track record in him but hopefully he lead us well.

9)NKF show. After a few years, I become sick of it.

10) The cameras in Geylang. Shit....this thing really too away much of the vibrancy in the even numbers lorong. Another idea from the top scholars that does no purpose other than chasing away prostitutes and the customer at the food outlets around the area.

Now now.... I only mean to say I dislike about my country not hate. Its like I dislike some bad habits of my sis, mum, dad and girlfriend that does not mean I don't love them. I love Singapore (not wayanging ok!?)--

TOP TEN REASON I LOVE SINGAPORE

1) Lee Kuan Yew. Despite what some say that he is cunning, he is god of no mercy (as oppose to Kuan Yin) and he just don't want to loss his grip on power. However, without his leadership and without his inspiration to lead our earlier generation we won't be able to transform a slum settlement into HDB estate, Farmers into Office workers, Ulu Ulu Sembawang Kampong into Sembawang new town, STI Index 200++ into STI Index 2300++, Rag tag band of soldiers into the modern well equipped and high tech SAF..etc...etc

2)Multi racial society. Every race co-exisiting peacefully under one roof. You won't find it else where in the world.

3)Food glorious food! We got lots of variety from different race! Chinese food, Indian food, Muslim, Western, Japanese, Korean...blar blar blar. I seriously have not finish eating every type of food advailable.

4)Seriously and Honestly...our public transport system is great despite the cost. Compare it with London and Newyork, you will felt the difference. I have stayed in Hong Kong for 3 - 4 months and the cost of public transport is much higher than Singapore

5)Our Health facilities are easily within reach. You won't have to walk more more than 1km to reach a clinic when you are sick.

6)Our young lion's soccer team. How I wish they were still competing in the Malaysia Cup. So much pride for our country and glory during those good old days. Especially when we won the Malaysia Cup 4 time in a row. However, our soccer team are progressing well currently.

7)Our RSAF CH47SD Chinook Helicopter a.k.a 'Flying Hot Dog'

8) All the friends I made especially the 9 Dragon Clan Brothers.

9)The fact that I can walk alone at night without getting rob, whack up, killed or sodomized.

10) I LOVE SINGAPORE for the very fact that I can have the luxury to sit here and type all this stuff and the fact that you have the time to read it. Show that we can all afford time to sit down and relax and also all of us can afford to have PC with internet at home. Unlike in the past... This really show how much we have progress.

Can we all just for one day, on the 9th of August forget everything bad about Singapore and be optimistic and proud of the country? Just one day lah.....the next day we all can still be the typical Singaporean we usually are...complain and complain and complain only. Thank you and don't forget to watch NDP Parade 'LIVE" at the Padang.... I am marching hor!!!

HAPPY NATIONAL DAY!!!

Freaking Winds at the NDP parade preview.

As some of you might know, I am part of the Air Force supporting c.u.m marching contingent for this year NDP Parade. Have been burning numerous weekends to put up a good show for all of you fellow citizen of Singapore. All the rehearsal so far and also the NE show (for the primary 5 kids to watch) went through with nothing exciting happening to us untill today..... our Air Force contingent was almost wiped out by a freak wind that blow across the Singapore river.

Now, who ever say Singapore River was a sheltered water way, well protected from storm and strong wind should really reconsider after todays incident. Before the NDP preview starts, we were all station at the following location-- (RED STAR)

Now, with all the land masses surrounding the body of water, a strong wind is not really possible. We were all the usual good soldier, sitting down eating the usual Mass produced and mass sponsored Pizza Hut lunch that all good soldier always eat during the pass few years NDP parades when the first warning came.... the sky become dark. The sea water starts to rock the boats quite violently in a distance. Here comes a small gust of wind that never stops it momentum. Soon our Pizza is been peppered with natural favouring (sand) and than a few leaves from the tree added the final touch to our lunch before the wind starts to rock our shelter which was those Pasar Malam type.

The wind become really FREAKING FAST!!! I mean, for a true blue Singaporean that never experience tornadoes or hurricane, I have never experience such strong winds in my 24 years time in Singapore. Our Air Force contingent was really caught off the guard, the entire "Pasar Malam" tent literally flew off from the ground and some Air force service man are still sitting there, under the open sky right now, still happily munching their meals and admiring nature destruction happening in front of their eyes. Probably we were all too shock to know what to do in such situation, our Singaporean mind are just not tune to react to such Natural disaster... it took a few moments before all the guys release what happen and move away from the scene of destruction. One champion actually did the most unforgiving thing for any SAF service man to do; He quickly took his bag, a bottle of NEWATER and his Pizza lunch but left his SAR21 rifle at the scene. "Better save his stomach than a lifeless, 2kg piece of metal." This time the FEAKING wind have become MORE FREAKING, a few trees were broke off at its trunk and a heavy stone chair literally topple under the force of the FREAKING wind. The Pasar Malam Shelter was not spared the extra punishment, the metal scaffold broke off and landed on the ground where we use to sitting and enjoying lunch.

It came so fast and its gone as fast too. The Aftermath-

1)Our Pasar Malam shelter was all blown away and we were all laughing for don't know what reasons. Maybe too happy that we are still alive or maybe just very excited to see all this destruction happening LIVE.

2)One of our guys, the Champion, SAR21 rifle magazine was damage when one of the metal scaffold from the "Pasar Malam" shelter landed on it. The spring from the magazine literally flew out. The rifle was luckily still in good condition. I think ST Kinectic should really reconsider the design of the rifle magazine.

3) Only 2 casualties. He hurt his hand when the Pasar Malam shelter flew off initially. The other guy is from the Police contingent, got hit hard on the head.

This incident was the most exciting stuff prior to the NDP Parade Preview, its just a waste that we were not able to bring cameras for the NDP Preview due to last minute security reasons. In any case, we are still still alive and I hope all of you will show your support for us by tuning in to NDP Parade 2005 LIVE telecast on the 9th of August..... "For the Red Lion paratrooper who injured himself" , "For the Airforce and Police contigent who survived the FREAKING storm".
